Since I started teaching over 8 years ago, I've helped hundreds of students from the ages of 5 to 80 improve their skills. In that time, my clientele has included students of all ability levels, from absolute beginners to professional musicians and Berklee grads.
I can help you master any technique, including slap, tap, fingerstyle, harmonics, and chords. And I can help familiarize you with any style, be it rock, funk, Jazz, metal, or Latin.

Who is Colin Sankey?
I am a professional bassist from Vancouver, Canada. I've been playing bass for over 17 years, and in that time, I've won the 2022 Phil Jones Solo Bass Competition, recorded multiple albums, toured with a Persian rock star, played hundreds of shows a year, and reached 116,000 Instagram followers with my arrangements.
My arrangements and videos have been featured by channels such as Scott's Bass Lessons, Charles Berthoud, George Collier, and BassTheWorld, each with hundreds of thousands to millions of YouTube subscribers.
I bring all this experience, plus the knowledge gained from years of diligent practice and four years of music school, into my lessons. Suffice to say, I haven't yet been asked a question about playing the bass that I did not have an answer to.
